Hey my name is Naiel/ Koshi. I've been into RC for about 8 years now, but I started out in DIY foam planes and recently i started working at RC Drift Pakistan were i got my intro into RC drifting. I plan to be posting about my projects over there on this forum for advice and help.
Right now the project I'm about to start is the re-build of a MST RMX kit which has been sitting for a few years. I plan to make this more of a personal car that is setup to my preferences. I actually want to experiment and learn how to setup a car using it.
I have driven some of the RTR RMXs at my track and i think i have a decent idea of what i want from a car and i want to see firstly if i can get the car to were i kinda imagine it and the try all kinds of different setups to see what i like and also to improve my drifting style be having different setups. Right now i am in the prosses of bringing the car back to factory spec before i start doing anything do get a baseline on what the car feels like as it still has some differences from the RTRs i currently have driven like for one those have locked diffs whereas the kit has a LSD.
Interterms of what I'm looking in a car i do want it to be kinda weight-shifty hence I've gone with a top mount motor but everything else in in its standard place, once i have the car fully stock one of the first things i want to try is a high mount battery another thing i really want to change is the suspension setup, not just the alignment but ride hight because right now I've only driven RTRs and they run pretty low to the ground which i get why but i want to go a but higher and maybe stiffen the suspension a bit to make them closer to real cars but i don't really want to sacrifice much performance so I'll see where i take it. I also want to play around with the CG on the yaw axis and maybe try something like a a 65-35 weight balance to simulate a more standard FR.
I would love to hear all of ya'lls advice and suggestions with how i should go about experimenting with different setups.
