My first drift kit build is completed.
I got into drift with a used RMX I got off a friend of mine and after a few weeks with it I had to scratch the building itch.
Picked up a MST RMX 2.5 kit and got to work.

After getting the chassis together I moved onto the shocks. These tiny guys look so odd to me after working scale crawler shocks for years.

Now onto the wheels.
Decided to go with some white DS Racing wheels. I like them because of the adjustability.

While I wait on my paint order to arrive I layer out the design for the body
Decided t go with a cherry blossom theme. Doing a two tone paint job and will use the branches to break up the colors.

Paint finally arrived and I didn't waste any time.

First up was the hand drawn brown branches and then I laid down a couple of coats of green pearl backed with white. Wish I would have done a couple more. The green pearl is barely noticeable

Next I did a green/purple/teal color shift and the pink blossoms.

And i had to through my logo on there. Used some metallic copper to make it stand out a little.
Once I got the pain on the body I felt I needed a wheel to tie into the color scheme.
Sho I pulled apart one of the DS racing wheels and hit it with the same pink as the blossoms.

Here is a close up of that color shift paint out I. The sun.

It's hard to capture the shift with a picture though.
I didn't get any pics of the magnet mounts I used but here is the body mounted. Now on to motor and esc

Decided to go budget on the motor and esc and sticking to about the same as the stock rmx rtr.
I decided to go with the Quicrun 10BL120 Sensored G2 ESC and a 3650 SL 13.5T G2 Motor. After some digging I found that the stock brushless motor and esc for the rmx is basically the same except the esc is only 60 amps in the rmx.

All that's left now is to get it to the track and she if it will slide.

Alot more to come as I upgrade and tune this thing. So hit the follow button.
